About Skiathos
The magnificent and green Skiathos is the most cosmopolitan and developed, in tourism, island of North Sporades. It belongs to the prefecture of Magnesia. It is the first island eastwards of Pelion. It is located 42 n.m. from Volos and 44 n.m. from Agios Konstantinos.
Skiathos island has rich and dense vegetation which reaches the shore. There are many beaches with crystal clear waters such as Koukounaries, Banana, Mikri and Megali Aselinos, Megali Ammos, Lalaria, etc.
In Skiathos Town you will have the chance to visit the house of our great author Alexandros Papadiamantis, who was born and lived in the island. This house nowadays operates as a museum. It is worth visiting Bourtzi, a small peninsula which separates the port of Skiathos in two. If you make a walk around the island you will see many churches and monasteries.
Skiathos is also famous for its nightlife. It has many clubs and bars, as and nightclubs with live music.
